FAQs

I've had a few questions about the process over the years, so I thought I would compile a list of the most frequent ones below.  Hopefully these help you when picking out your buckle and belt, but if you don't find the information you're looking for here, please reach out to my using the link on my Contact page.

Q: What are these buckles made from?
A: All of my buckles are made from solid sterling silver and all the overlays are solid 14k gold.  I buy the raw materials and mix the alloys in-house before casting each buckle in my homemade casting machine.

Q: What size buckle should I get?
A: There aren't any hard rules about buckle sizes, so the best answer is the one you're most comfortable wearing.  Generally speaking though, if you aren't sure which size you'd like, I'd recommend the 1 inch "Buckle and Belt" or the 1" 4 Piece Sets and start your collection from there.

Q: My buckle is dirty and tarnished, what's the best way to clean it up?
A: I recommend starting with the sunshine cloth that was included with your purchase, and gently buffing out any dirt and even very minor scratches that will eventually happen while wearing it. If that doesn't work, next I recommend Wrights Silver Cream, which can be bought from that amazon link, but I usually pick it up in the hardware section of my grocery store.  Apply a small amount to a cloth and use the same technique you used with the sunshine cloth.

Q: My buckle has some scratches and dents, what can I do?
A: Please reach out to me so we can arrange for it to be sent in.  I'll repair and re-polish it, free of charge, and remove as many of the scratches and dents as I can without compromising it's function or overall appearance.

Q: I've inherited this buckle from a family member, will you still re-polish it?
A: Yes, I offer free repairing and re-polishing on any of my belt buckles, regardless of who was the original purchaser.

Q: Why does it take so long to arrive?
A: Each of these buckles is made by hand, one at a time.  Because these are artisan made, there is no way to make these in bulk or streamline the process.  I work on each piece individually from start to finish.
